In the previous episode, Nobu (Imada), who had found her dream, began studying hard to pass the entrance exam for a women's normal school, but her grades were not good and she was worried. Takashi ( Takumi Kitamura) was also scolded by Chiyoko (Naho Toda) after seeing her report card. However, when Hatako (Noriko Eguchi) asked Takashi to help Nobu with her studies, he couldn't refuse and accepted.
One night, as Takashi is struggling with mathematics, which he is not good at, he goes out into the hallway and hears the voices of Hiroshi (Yutaka Takenouchi) talking to Chihiro (Motoki Nakazawa) from his study...and so the story unfolds.
In episode 17, when Nobu comes to the Yanai house to study, he can't find Taka. While walking along the railroad tracks, Taka remembers the conversation he heard last night. He then tells Kusakichi (Sadao Abe) about his childhood memories with Chihiro. At the same time, Nobu, who was waiting for Taka in his room, hears Chihiro's feelings for Taka.
When Chihiro asks Taka where he's been that evening, he responds with a self-deprecating remark, and they end up fighting. Nobu rushes over to the scene...
"Anpan" is based on the married couple Takashi Yanase(1919-2013) and Nobuyuki (1918-1993), the manga artist and picture book writer who created "Anpanman." It is a "story of love and courage" that will make you feel the joy of living, depicting how these two, who were once nobody, overcame all sorts of rough seas and arrived at "Anpanman," the embodiment of "unreversible justice."
