Actor Akari Takaishi appeared at the preview screening of the animated feature film "Tabekko Dobutsu THE MOVIE" (directed by Takekiyohito, to be released on May 1st) held at Shinjuku Wald 9 (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo) on April 7th. Takaishi voiced the heroine Pegasus-chan and also tried her hand at singing in the film, and appealed, "I hope people will pay attention to the music as well."
Appearing at the event were voice actors Genta Matsuda from the popular group "Travis Japan," who plays the main character Koshi Mizukami who plays the Elephant-kun, Fujimori Shingo who plays the Monkey-kun, Aoi Shouta who plays the Hippo-chan, Inori Minase Nao Toyama who plays the Cat-chan, Toyama Nao who plays the Giraffe-chan, and Liliana Ono who plays Pero, as well as director Takekiyo, screenwriter Ikeda Tetsuro, and 10 of the Tabekko Dobutsu.
At the event, Liliana chose Pegasus-chan, played by Takaishi, as her favorite character, praising her, saying, "I also love singing, and Pegasus-chan is good at singing, too. There was a scene where Pegasus-chan sang, and Tabekko Dobutsu Animals were drawn in to sing along, and Akari Takaishi san's singing voice was amazing, so I hope everyone will sing along in their hearts and feel warm and fuzzy." Takaishi-san was thrilled, saying, "Above all, I'm happy! I'm happy that they called me by name."
The film is an animated feature film based on the popular snack "Tabekko Dobutsu" (Ginbis). The Tabekko Dobutsu take on the mission of defeating an enemy plotting to take over the world. In Sweets Land, where sweets and humans live together in harmony, the singing and dancing super idols "Tabekko Dobutsu" are extremely popular, but Pegasus-chan is captured by the evil Cotton Candy Army, who are trying to eliminate all sweets in the world and take over the world. For the sake of their precious friend, the Tabekko Dobutsu, who are only fluffy and cute but have zero fighting ability, take on the 1000% impossible "Pegasus-chan rescue mission."
The film will be directed by Takekiyo of "After School Midnighters" and produced by Marza Animation Planet, which has also produced "Lupin the Third : The First," "Sonic the Hedgehog," and "Captain Harlock."
