The busy 73-year-old Rakugo performer Shofutei Tsurube will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1pm on March 3rd. In addition to appearing on numerous regular TV shows, Tsurube began performing Rakugo in earnest after turning 50, and now travels around the country to perform at more than 200 vaudeville shows a year, which has caused his voice to become hoarse.
Tsurube-san first appeared on "Tetsuko's Room" when he was 30 years old. Kuroyanagi-san eagerly moved to Tokyo from Osaka and a video of his younger days is shown. Kuroyanagi-san makes some shocking remarks about that first appearance. Furthermore, a controversy breaks out over a photo of the late Shofutei Matsuharu-san's master? The two have a lively exchange that gets the crowd excited and makes for some hilarious talk.
The person who supports him in his busy days is his beloved wife, Reiko, who celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year. He recently found a photo of his wife from their wedding and called her in joy. Kuroyanagi wanted to see the photo, so the studio became a complete mess as they searched for it.
