It has been announced that the original anime "LAZARUS" by Shinichiro Watanabe, known for the anime "Cowboy Bebop", will be broadcast on TV Tokyo every Sunday at 11:45 pm starting from April 6th. It will have a total of 13 episodes. The latest visuals and PV have also been released.
The story is about a team of agents from around the world, Lazarus, who are pursuing Dr. Skinner, a neuroscientist who developed a painkiller called "Hapuna" that causes death three years after taking it, in order to save humanity. Character design will be handled by Akemi Hayashi, known for "BANANA FISH," and the work will be produced by MAPPA.
Mamoru Miyano will play the main character, Axel, who is imprisoned due to a certain incident but repeatedly escapes and whose hobby is escaping from prison. The cast will include Makoto Furukawa, Uchida Maaya, Yuma Uchida, Iwami Manaka, Manaka Iwami Megumi Hayashibara, Akio Otsuka, and Koichi Yamadera as voice actors.
