It has been announced that the 2nd Domannaka Anime Film Festival, a film festival focusing on 1980s anime, will be held at Midland Square Cinema (Nakamura Ward, Nagoya City) from May 16th to 22nd. The official poster, featuring original artwork by Kunio Okawara, known for his designs of the mobile suits in Mobile Suit Gundam, has also been released.
The first festival was held in May last year. The second festival will screen "Ashita no Joe 2: The Movie" (1981, directed by Osamu Dezaki), "Galaxy Express 999: Andromeda Terminus 4K Remaster" (1981, directed by Rintaro), "Legend of the Galactic Heroes : My Conquest of the Ocean of Stars 4K Remaster" (1988, directed by Noboru Ishiguro), "Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Overture to a New Battle 4K Remaster" (1993, directed by Keizo Shimizu), and "Magical Princess Minky Momo: Rondo of a Dream" (1985, directed by Kunihiko Yuyama).
Films that will be screened include "Locke the Superman" (1984, directed by Fukutomi Hiroshi), the 4K remaster of the theatrical version of "Crusher Joe" (1983, directed by Yasuhiko Yoshikazu), "The Five Star Stories" (1989, directed by Yamazaki Kazuo), "Kamui's Sword" (1985, directed by Rintaro), and "Nezumi Kozo Jirokichi: A Manga Film Dedicated to Yamanaka Sadao" (2024, directed by Rintaro), and talk events will also be held on May 17th and 18th.
