It has been revealed that the opening theme (OP) "Genesis of Aquarion Myth of Emotions Ver." will be sung by "AKINO from bless4" by singer AKINO and a special unit consisting of Yoshiki Fukuyama and Yoshiki Fukuyama, for the new TV anime "Aquarion: Myth of Emotions", the 4th season of the popular anime "Aquarion" series. The song "Genesis of Aquarion", which is well-known for the lyrics "I've loved you for 10,000 years and 2,000 years", with lyrics by Yuho Iwasato and music by Yoko Kanno, has been re-arranged by Sagisu Shiro to become "Genesis of Aquarion Myth of Emotions Ver." and will be played as the OP. "AKINO from bless4" will also be in charge of the ending theme "Confession".
AKINO commented, "Congratulations on the 20th anniversary of Aquarion! Congratulations! I first encountered this work when I was 14, and it changed my life dramatically. I've been waiting for this for 10,000,000 years! This time, I'm incredibly happy to be able to participate with everyone in 'Myth of Emotions'. I can't wait to watch it in real time. ♪I will continue to love it even 100 million, 2000 years from now♪."
Fukuyama said, "I'm Fukuyama Yoshiki, and I'll be singing "Sousei no Aquarion Myth of Emotions" with AKINO. Everyone knows this song, but I never thought I'd be the one to sing it! What's more, it was a high hurdle to do a duet with AKINO, who has been singing it for 20 years (laughs). I hope people like this new version. Of course, it would be great to perform it live. The setting is Enoshima, which is close to my hometown, so I'm thinking of making a pilgrimage to the sacred place. I'm looking forward to the broadcast."
The promotional video, which depicts the fusion scene and plays the opening theme, was also released on YouTube. Additional cast members were also announced, including Hiroki Nanami as the mysterious boy San, Kiyono Yasuno as Kyoko Munakata, a teacher at the private Enoshima Academy, and Yumi Wakutsu as Kazuhiko Saruta, another teacher.
The new TV anime will be the fourth season, following "Genesis of Aquarion" which was broadcast in 2005, "Aquarion EVOL" which was broadcast in 2012, and "Aquarion Logos" which was broadcast in 2015. Set in Enoshima, Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture, the boys and girls who attend Enoshima Private Academy, a private school that gathers talented students from all over the country, fight against mysterious invasive weapons and mythical beasts with Vector Machines, fighter planes powered by the power of emotions. It will be broadcast on TOKYO MX, TV Aichi, and others from January 9, 2025.
