At the special briefing, Kaoru and Maika (Kawaei) were condemned by Shingo (Kasamatsu Masaru), who said, "You are by no means the 'ideal mothers' that Yanagiwa is looking for."
In response, Kaoru questioned when the term "ideal mother" began to be used to blame mothers. "Mothers who devote themselves to their work are said to be sacrificing their children, and mothers who stay at home are said to be not independent. But all mothers are simply trying to protect their children somehow every day in their own way," she said.
Kaoru wanted to find a solution that was different from the binary thinking of having or not having children, or working or not. She argued that "it is much more important to support and accept each other than conforming to someone else's ideals."
On social media, people were excited, saying things like, "These words resonate not only with mothers with children, but with a wide range of women...Kaoru's words really hit home," "Kaoru always has such cool, persuasive words," "This drama really resonated with us in today's world, where women tend to be divided!", "It was a work that reflected the real issues facing society today," and "It was a wonderful drama that depicted the issues that society will have to face in the future in a pop and light-hearted way, in a good way."
