Japan's largest toy trade fair, the International Tokyo Toy Show Show 2025, opened on August 28 at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto Ward, Tokyo). 211 companies, including Bandai and Takara Tomy, will exhibit at the show, displaying approximately 35,000 toys.
Bandai will be exhibiting the transformation belt for "Kamen Rider Kamen Rider Zeztz Rider" series, which will be released in September, as well as toys for "Ultraman Omega," the latest in the "Ultraman" series. Toys from the "PreCure" series, such as "You and Idol Pretty Cure" and the "Gundam" series, will also be on display.
In addition to standard products such as "Tomica," "Plarail," "Licca-chan," and "Beyblade," Takara Tomy has attracted attention with products such as "Hatch! Umo Jurassic World T-Rex Egg," in which an egg breaks and a dinosaur is born, and "FUNSHOT," a camera aimed at the digital native alpha generation.
According to the Japan Toy Association, the domestic toy market is expected to reach a record high of over 1 trillion yen in fiscal 2024, driven by card games and character products popular with kidults and inbound tourists. This year's International Tokyo Toy Show Show will feature a wide selection of toys that have evolved with the latest technology and can be enjoyed by adults as well.
The International Tokyo Toy Show Toy Show is Japan's largest toy trade fair, which has been held since 1962. A total of more than 90,000 visitors are expected over the four days.
