The second episode of the TV drama "Chihayafuru -Meguri-" (Nippon TV, Wednesdays at 10pm), starring actress Ami Touma, aired on July 16th. The preview of the next episode featured "Nikuman-kun" Nishida Yusei (played by Yamoto Yuma), who appeared in the movie series, and this caused a stir on social media.

In the second episode, Aizawa Meguru, a ghost member of the Umezono High School Competitive Karuta Club, experiences the fun of karuta at the school festival, but is still determined to quit. Meanwhile, Shirano Fuki (Jun Saito), a classmate, wants to join the karuta club. Advisor Oe Kanade (Mone Kamishiraishi) and club member Yono Sota (Soma Santoki) are delighted and teach Fuki the basics of karuta. To help Fuki get a feel for the atmosphere of a match, everyone decides to go watch Sota's individual match on Saturday, but Meguru submits her withdrawal from the club.
On Saturday, Sota plays a close match against Tsukiura Nagi (Nanoka Hara ) from Mizusawa High School, but loses by just a hair, crying tears of frustration. Meguru is shaken when she learns the secret that Fuki is hiding, and is unable to join in on the group of people encouraging Sota, but when Kanade calls out to her, she talks back and decides not to quit the club. Fuki, Chieri (Arashi Rina) and Haruma (Takamura Yoshito), who had quit the baseball club for some reason, also decide to join the club, leaving the karuta club with five members... and so on.
The preview for episode 3 features Nishida, also known as "Nikuman-kun," an alumnus of the Mizusawa High School Karuta Club who also appeared in the film series. Nishida is the chairman of the Fuchu Yugiri-kai Karuta Club, which he founded, and the manager of the okonomiyaki restaurant Nishida. When "Nikuman-kun" was shown on social media, excited comments such as "Nikuman-kun next week!", "It's so exciting that Nikuman-kun will appear," "He's finally appearing! I'm so happy!", and "I cry just seeing Nikuman-kun."
In addition, Yamoto, who plays Nishida, is currently playing Sano Masanobu, who attacks Tanuma Okitomo in the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) ", which led to comments such as "No, it's not Sano-dono, it's Nikuman-kun!", "After seeing Sano-dono in such a pitiful state, I want to meet the cheerful Nikuman-kun", and "Since things are very difficult in the Taiga drama, I'm really happy to meet the cheerful Nikuman-kun..."
