The second episode of the TV drama " The Great Chase: Metropolitan Police Department SSBC Violent Crimes Unit " (TV Asahi, Wednesdays at 9pm), starring Nao Omori, Masaki Aiba and Nao Matsushita , will be broadcast on July 16th. The synopsis and scene cuts have been released.
While watching security cameras, Igaki (Omori), a member of the SSBC violent crime unit, discovers the wanted criminal Arakawa (Yoshioka Mutsuo). Arakawa is the man who was targeted as the "culprit of a random terrorist attack" that caused casualties with an explosive device he set off in front of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology six years ago.
Igaki and Nanami (Aiba Masaki) head to Kinshicho, where Arakawa was caught on camera. They immediately encounter Arakawa coming out of an apartment building, and Nanami calls out to him, ignoring the rule that "SSBC does not contact suspects."
Arakawa then escapes on his motorcycle, threatening that there is a bomb in the backpack, and takes hostages in a prefabricated hut at a construction site.
The SSBC Violent Crimes Division unintentionally caused a hostage situation. After being severely scolded by Yaegashi ( Kenichi Endo), the head of the First Investigation Division, and Haruka (Matsushita), the section chief, Igaki and Nanami learn of the existence of a woman named Hoshino Yukari (Ito Ayumi) who lives with Arakawa. Using security cameras and smartphone location information, Igaki and his team pinpointed Yukari's whereabouts, but...!?
The drama is an original detective drama set in the newly established "SSBC Violent Crimes Unit" of the Metropolitan Police Department Investigation Support and Analysis Center (SSBC), which is responsible for collecting and analyzing security camera footage, and analyzing smartphones and computers. The script is written by Yasushi Fukuda, a hit maker known for "HERO" (Fuji TV), "DOCTORS: The Most Powerful Doctor" (TV Asahi), the NHK Taiga drama "Ryomaden," and the Asadora drama "Manpuku."
