The 68th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " starring Mio Imada (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 am and others) was broadcast on July 2nd. In the episode, viewers reacted to the words "next to despair is hope" spoken by Nobu (Imada).
In the 68th episode, Nobu is excited about the publication of the evening edition of the Kochi Shimpo. However, Tokairin (played by Kenjiro Tsuda) tells him that it has been cancelled.
Only the Tosa Shimpo will be publishing the evening edition, and Tokairin apologizes, saying, "Sorry for getting you excited." After a meal with Kotoko (Yui Narumi), Nobu interviews her and returns to the editorial office, where he immediately begins working on the manuscript.
To the confused Tokairin and Iwashimizu (Yuki Kura), Nobu smiled and said, "We only just decided to pick up the real voices. The evening edition may be gone, but we've only just become reporters, so we have to do our best."
When Tokairin said, "It might be a waste," Nobu replied, "Someone once told me, 'Next to despair is hope.'" He conveyed the words of Hiroshi (Takumi Kitamura), the uncle of the late Takashi (Yutaka Takenouchi). He then cheerfully said, "This doesn't belong in despair. Let's cheer up."
Afterwards, Tokairin went to the black market and picked up a copy of the American newspaper "HOPE" at the store owned by Takashi and Kentaro (Fumiya Takahashi). He muttered, "Hope... Hope is next to despair..." and said, "How much is it? I'll buy this hope," and bought the paper and went home. Returning to the company, Tokairin desperately pleaded with the director, "Just five minutes! Please listen to my story."
On social media, people were saying things like, "Uncle Hiroshi's words are still alive," "Uncle Hiroshi's words, 'Next to despair there is hope,' are true here too," "Tokairin and Iwashimizu followed Nobu's example of not giving up," and "Nobu's positive attitude will save everyone."
