On July 2nd, actress Anne Nakamura appeared at a press conference in Tokyo for the drama series "Good evening, this is the Asayama family" (ABC TV/TV Asahi, Sunday 10:15pm *First episode at 10:30pm), which starts on the 6th. She appeared with co-star Ozawa Yukiyoshi and other main cast members. Nakamura, who plays the "wife who loses her temper" to Ozawa's "useless husband", said with a smile, "At first I wondered if I could insult her, but it felt good and it's become a pleasure every day. I thought it would be nice if I could let out that side of myself more."
The drama is based on the serial diary "Going Backwards" by screenwriter Shin Adachi, who has also been a topic of discussion for the NHK Asadora drama "Boogie Woogie" in the second half of 2023, and Adachi himself will be the scriptwriter and director. The drama is a home drama in which Asako (Nakamura), an angry wife, and Kenta Asayama (Ozawa), a screenwriter who works on national dramas but is a "disappointing husband" at home, overcome the family's difficulties through repeated conflicts.
This is the first time the two have acted together and they will be playing the role of a married couple. Nakamura said of Ozawa, "I had an image of him as a serious character, but he was very friendly and helpful. I had never acted in a dialogue-based drama before, so he gave me advice on how to speak confidently, which was very helpful." He also expressed his gratitude for his angry acting, saying, "Ozawa's useless character Kenta makes me feel that way."
Ozawa appealed, "At the root of the conversation (between the fighting couple) is kindness and embarrassment, and we, the actors, are working hard to convey that properly. I would be happy if people could see that such a world exists."
Also attending the press conference were Honami Sato, Ae! Group's Kojima Ken, Yuka Kageyama, Watanabe Miyu, Shimada Tetsuta, Matsuo Satoru, screenwriter and director Adachi, and Adachi's wife Akiko, who was the model for the character. Akiko smiled and said, "Nakamura has gotten rid of my banned hysterical side and is more appealing. I know I'm being self-promoting, but I recommend it!"
