The main footage and key visual for the mystery horror film " Hikuidori wo, Kuu " (released October 3rd, directed by Katsuhide Motoki), starring actor Koshi Mizukami and starring Mizuki Yamashita , were released on June 6th.
The film is based on the novel of the same name by Hara Hiroshi, winner of the 40th Yokomizo Seishi Mystery & Hikuidori," a series of mysterious events begin to occur around Yuji and his wife, Yuriko (Yamashita). Sadaichi's diary causes a "past" that shouldn't exist to slowly erode "reality"... This is a mystery horror story.
The released footage begins with Yuriko's confident narration: "The inscription on the gravestone has been erased, Grandpa is gone, and everyone thinks it's all because of that diary...!" On the day that the Kuki family's ancestral grave is erased by someone, a diary left behind by Sadaichi, an ancestor of the Kuki family who died in war 80 years ago, suddenly arrives for Yuji and his friends. The footage shows the Kuki couple getting caught up in the strange happenings, as well as Hokuto (Ryota Miyadate), a mysterious man with a deep knowledge of paranormal phenomena.
The key visual features a swirling design with the title at the center, depicting the three characters standing under an eerie blue sky with sinister-colored cassowary feathers and pages from the diary of a deceased person flying up. Photographs from the film of newspaper reporter Yozawa (Misato Morita), Yuji's mother Nobuko (Aso Yumi), and Yuriko's younger brother Ryo (Yudai Toyoda) are also included, along with a copy that aims to stir up the characters' anxiety, saying, "This fear is delicious."
