It has been announced that a bookstore fair will be held to commemorate the release of the 20th volume of the comic "The Shosetsuka ni Naro The Apothecary Diaries: Maomao 's Harem Mystery Notebook," a light novel manga by Natsu Hyuga that was born from the novel submission site "Let's Become a Novelist," on May 19th. For every purchase of a designated item, you will receive one of the sparkling "Dual-Sided Character Cards" (5 types in total).
The cards feature illustrations by Kurata Sanro, who is responsible for the illustrations of the manga version currently being serialized in "Sunday GX" (Shogakukan), and the Maomao version features the cute pharmacist Maomao and the dancer Maomao arranged one above the other like playing cards. In addition, the lineup includes cards designed to show Jinshi, Maomao and Jinshi when they receive a special envoy from a foreign country, a beautiful sister pair, and a card depicting an unexpected side of Li Bai.
The story of "The Apothecary Diaries" is set in the glamorous harem of a certain continent, where a young Maomao, a "poison taster," gets caught up in an incident that occurs in the harem, full of conspiracies and rumors, together with a handsome eunuch Jinshi... The original light novel began publication in 2014 by Hero Bunko (Imagine Info), and the comic book adaptation has been published by Square Enix and Shogakukan.
The first season of the TV anime aired on Nippon Television from October 2023 to March 2024. The second season is currently airing on Nippon Television's anime slot "FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT (Fura-ani)."
