It has been announced that actress Kudo Ayano will be appearing in "Ultraman Omega," the new special effects drama in the "Ultraman" series. She will play Ichido Ayumu, a biologist who is the heroine of the series. Kudo made her debut in 2009, when she won the Grand Prix and Model Division Award at the 12th All-Japan National Beautiful Girl Contest. She made her drama debut in 2011 in "Suzuki Sensei" (TV Tokyo), and has also appeared in the "HiGH&LOW" series.
Ayumu, played by Kudo, is a biologist working at the National Institute for Nature Research. While continuing to conduct research on endangered species in Japan, when a monster appears, he cooperates with the government to investigate. His parents own a veterinary clinic, which inspired him to become interested in animal conservation. He has been familiar with living things since he was a child, and among animals he likes reptiles, especially turtles. His dream for the future is to spend his time watching turtles on a southern island while doing conservation work. At the scene of a monster incident, he has a fateful encounter with the protagonist, an alien named Omega (Okida Sorato), and an earthling named Hoshimi Kousei, and they end up acting together, calling each other "Ayu-nee." As he investigates the monster incident, he thinks about the new relationship between monsters and humans.
Kudo commented, "Thanks to my younger brother's influence, I naturally had many opportunities to come into contact with the world of Ultraman from a young age. Before I knew it, Ultraman had become a very close and important presence to me. It feels like a dream come true and I am extremely honored to now be able to be involved in the world of Ultraman, which I have been familiar with since childhood. Through playing the role of Ayumu, I was influenced by Ayu's strong personality that runs through her core and the way she walks with her feet firmly on the ground. "Ultraman Omega" is about the main character, an alien (Ultraman) named Okida Sorato, who suddenly falls from the sky onto an Earth where there are no heroes or monsters. Sorato transforms into Ultraman Omega and fights monsters, and becomes a buddy team with the Earthling Hoshimi Kosei, exploring the question, "Why does Ultraman protect the Earth?" Takei Masayoshi, known for "Ultraman R/B" and "Ultraman Decker," is the main director, with Nemoto Toshizo and Ashiki Junichiro in charge of series composition. Actor Kondo Shouri plays the main character, Sorato. The series will be broadcast on TV Tokyo every Saturday at 9 a.m. starting July 5th.
