Singer Dream Ami attended the 17th Best Mother Awards 2025 ceremony held in Tokyo on May 8th. She shared the "happiest moments" she has felt while raising her children.
When asked about the moments that bring her joy while raising her child, Dream Ami said with a lovestruck look on her face, "Like when he calls me 'Mommy,' and I turn around to see him talking to me happily with a big smile on his face. But even in those moments I feel happy when I'm with my son, and I think he's so cute."
She continued, "Recently, he has started to learn words and we are now able to communicate with him using words. I can now hear what he is thinking and how he feels about what I say, so I feel happy and delighted to be able to communicate with him."
Regarding her child, she said, "I want him to love music." She added, "I usually play music and play with toys that make noise. But now he's two and a half years old, he loves singing. He asks me, 'Mommy, let's sing together,' so I try to sing with him until he gets bored."
The award has been selected by the Japan Mothers Association since 2008, and the winners are chosen by votes from mothers across the country. This year's winners were Mori in the entertainment category, Dream Ami in the music category, Sumi Reina in the culture category, former badminton player Takahashi Ayaka in the sports category, and novelist and essayist Yamazaki Naoko in the literature category.
