To commemorate the fourth season of the popular anime series "Mr. Osomatsu " being broadcast on TV Tokyo and other networks starting in July, it has been announced that an audio program called "40-minute talk between Takahiro Sakurai and Shu Matsubara!", featuring voice actor Takahiro Sakurai , who plays Osomatsu , and series composer Shu Matsubara, will premiere on the official YouTube channel from 9pm on April 25th. They will talk about the highlights of the fourth season and episodes from the dubbing process. The two will ask each other questions and engage in a talk that will reveal the true feelings of two people who have been leading the series for about 10 years.
A teaser visual for the fourth season was also released. Character designer Eiji Yasuhiko has drawn the sextuplets lazing around on a bus. A teaser PV was also released on YouTube, depicting the sextuplets lazing around at home in the heat.
To commemorate the broadcast of the fourth season, the MatsuDemy Awards will be held, where fans will be able to vote for the best episode of " Mr. Osomatsu" from the first three seasons of the TV anime, and voting has begun on the official website. This is a fan-participation project where fans can freely vote for their favorite episode or character, and in addition to categories for choosing their favorite episode for each character, such as the "Osomatsu Award" and "Karamatsu Award," there are nine categories in total that praise the work from various angles, such as the "Legendary Idiot Award," "Most Tears Award," and "Recommended for Beginners Award."
The nominated works in each category will be voted on again at a later date on the official X (@osomatsu_PR) account to determine the best episode. The best episode will be distributed on the official YouTube channel. Voting will be accepted until May 6th.
"Mr. Mr. Osomatsu Summer Selection," which will introduce eight carefully selected episodes from the summer episodes of Mr. Mr. Osomatsu that have been aired so far, will be released one after another from April 29th. The short videos, which feature scenes perfect for summer, including the fifth episode of the second season, "Mr. Osomatsu in Summer," will be released on the official X, TikTok, and YouTube.
"Mr. Osomatsu" is based on Fujio Akatsuka's comedy manga "Osomatsu." It depicts the daily lives of the sextuplets as adults, and its extreme gags have made it popular among female anime fans.
The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2015 to March 2016, the second season from October 2017 to March 2018, and the third season from October 2020 to March 2021. The movie version, "Osomatsu San Movie the Movie," was released in March 2019. The first new anime to commemorate the 6th anniversary, "Mr. Osomatsu-san: The Hippipo Tribe and the Shining Fruit," was released in theaters from July 2022, and the second, "Mr. Osomatsu: The Soulful Takoyaki Party and the Legendary Sleepover," was released in theaters from July 2023.
The fourth season will be directed by Yoshinori Kodaka, who also directed "Mr. Osomatsu: The Hippipo Tribe and the Shining Fruit." This will be Kodaka's first time directing a TV series. Following on from the previous series, Matsubara will be in charge of series composition, and Eiji Yasuhiko will be in charge of character design.
