UTA, the eldest son of actor Masahiro Motoki and essayist Yayako Uchida and a model, will appear on the variety show "Platinum Family" (TV Asahi, excluding some regions) broadcast at 7pm on April 22nd, where he will talk about his memories of his late grandparents, Yuya Uchida and Kirin Kiki.
This program introduces the lifestyle of the "gorgeous family = platinum family." On this day, MC Kotaro Koizumi visits Yuya and Kirin's home. Their daughter Yayako and granddaughter UTA show them around.
Regarding his relationship with his late grandfather Yuya, UTA said, "I never called him 'Grandpa.' He was like a character, I just called him 'Yuya.'" Yayako responded, "We never had a relationship like 'Grandpa and Grandchild.' It was more like an exchange of foreign bodies." She spoke of their unique family relationship.
The program will introduce the "Five Great Legends to Pass on to Future Generations" of Yuya, who is surrounded by many legends, along with rare footage, and will also reveal the inside story of Yayako and Motoki's marriage.
Yayako also talks about the feelings she had for Yuya that she had heard from Kirin when she was alive. In the studio, Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, a special advisor for the show, reminisced about her memories of appearing on a TV show with Yuya and Kirin. "I always wondered why Kirin ended up with such a crazy person, but I guess it was because she loved Yuya," she said, coming to terms with the situation.
