The key visual for voice actor Jun Fukuyama's solo reading play "Writer, 46 Years Old, Single" has been released. The visual shows Fukuyama looking at a computer alongside a white dog.
This is the ultimate one-man reading drama in which Fukuyama challenges himself to deliver all the lines by himself, and will be written and directed by Takaya Okamoto, who has also worked on the reading drama "The Eraser in My Head." It will be performed at CBGK Shibugeki in Tokyo from July 4th to 6th, and at Kintetsu Art Hall in Osaka from July 11th to 13th. Advance ticket sales will start on April 14th.
◇Comment from Jun Fukuyama
Now that I've been working as a voice actor for 30 years, the number is in sight. While the world is changing rapidly, there is one thing that never changes. "I want to say a lot of lines." If I just wait, I won't get any lines, so I guess I'll just have to act by myself. I'll know if it's okay if I try!!
◇Comment from Takaya Okamoto
I got married and divorced in my 40s. I will never forget that morning when I was 46 years old, lost my wife and job, drowned in alcohol and women, and had zero savings. I rummaged through the house to scrape together some coins, and trembled in the bathroom, wondering what to do the next day. It's not impossible to say that I am the upstanding person I am today because of that morning, but it would have been better if that morning had never happened. I would like to write about that day. And I would like to entrust it to a 46-year-old man.
