It has been revealed that the third season of the TV anime "Shangri-La Frontier," based on the manga currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), will be produced. The final episode of the second season was broadcast on March 30th in the MBS/TBS Sunday 5pm anime slot, and the production of the third season was announced.
A visual announcing the decision to produce a third season was also released. Surrounding Sanraku, who is sitting on a chair in the center, are Arthur Pencilgon, Rust, Emuru, Mordo, Saiga-0 in his familiar armor, Akane Akitsu, Oikaczo, and Shikuru. Sanraku looks cool, but his suit has been blown off by Lycaon's curse, and he stands half-naked with a bow tie, looking even more "perverted."
The work is a comic adaptation of a popular light novel on the novel submission site "Shosetsuka ni Naro". The story is about a gamer, Yomu Rakurou, who loves crappy games, challenging the godly game "Shangri-La Frontier", which boasts 30 million players. The series began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" in July 2020. The comic has sold over 11 million copies in total.
The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2023 to March 2024, and the second season aired from October 2024 to March 2025.
