It has been announced that "Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth", the first original TV anime by david production, the producers of anime such as "JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE", will be broadcast in July. It is said to be an "alternate world x yankee yin-yang battle action" and will be directed by Takahashi Hideya, with series composition by Mori Hayashi, character design by Morita Kazuaki, plot draft by light novel writer Sato Akuto, and world setting research by sci-fi writer Shibata Katsuie. Starring Kimura Taihi as the protagonist Narihira Takeru, Uchida Maaya as Tsukimiya, and Kimura Ryohei as Abe no Seimei are among the cast members. A teaser visual and the first promotional video have also been released.
The story is about a high school punk named Narihira Takeshi, who spends his days pining for a mysterious girl named Tsukimiya who appears in his dreams many times, who falls off a cliff in an accident and regains consciousness in "Dengi Heian-kyo", a technologically advanced Heian-kyo. "Dengi Heian-kyo" is set in an alternate world where Tsukimiya, the girl he admires, actually exists, and is protected by Abe no Seimei, the most powerful onmyoji. The manga version is currently being serialized in "Morning Two" (Kodansha).
Director Takahashi commented, "This project started with the suggestion, 'Onmyoji are so cool, aren't they?' The staff packed it with a lot of things they wanted to do! The greatest appeal of this film is its furious development. The story progresses without a moment to catch your breath. The film is sprinkled with many twists and turns, and I hope that by the time you've finished watching it, you'll feel like watching more."
Kimura Taihi said, "Information about 'Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth' has finally been released! So I myself am very nervous! Even during recording, I am at the mercy of the sudden developments that come at me every time, along with Takeru.
