The drama series "Aku no Hana" (The Flowers of Evil), starring actor Fuku Suzuki and singer Ano (aka "Ano-chan"), will begin airing on Getsuku on TV Tokyo and other channels at midnight on Thursdays. Based on the manga of the same name by Shuzo Oshimi, the series depicts the "reckless behavior" of adolescent boys and girls.
"The Flowers of Evil" is a popular manga by Oshimi that was serialized in "Bessatsu Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha) from 2009 to 2014, selling a total of 3.25 million copies and being nominated for the "Manga Taisho" award. The impactful cover of the first volume, which features the line "You damn bug" written in large letters by Nakamura Sawa, and the vivid depiction of the inner conflicts and reckless behavior unique to adolescence have attracted attention, and it was adapted into a TV anime in 2013, a stage play in 2016, and a live-action film in 2019.
Takao Kasuga, a boy who believes he is different from his classmates because he loves reading Baudelaire's poetry collection "The Flowers of Evil," one day, by chance, steals the gym uniform of his crush, Nanako Saeki. However, he is seen by another classmate, Sawa Nakamura, and ends up forming a master-servant contract with her. Eventually, Kasuga is forced to confront aspects of himself he never knew existed... and that's the story.
Suzuki plays Takao Kasuga, Ano plays Sawa Nakamura, and Manami Igashira plays Nanako Saeki. From the high school arc onwards, Aruno Nakanishi of the idol group " Nogizaka46 " appears as Fumiko Tokiwa.
This will be Ano's first leading role in a terrestrial television drama, and Nakanishi's first appearance in a terrestrial television drama.
