Comedian duo JaruJaru won the "Indeed CM On Air Battle 2026," a project that began last December. They have won all four previous events, achieving their fourth consecutive victory. A commercial featuring the winning duo, JaruJaru, will be aired nationwide from March 2nd.
"Indeed CM On-Air Battle" is a program in which comedians perform five-second impromptu skits in commercials, with the winner determined by public vote. It was first planned in 2019 and held consecutively in 2021 and 2022 before being put on hold. It returned in December 2025 for the first time in three years, with a total of eight groups competing, the largest number ever, ranging from veterans to up-and-coming young talents: JaruJaru, Kinzoku Bat, Long Coat Daddy, Mayurika, Nakagawake, Nanamagari, Odaueda, and Rainbow.
Public votes were accepted from December 3, 2025 to February 15, 2026, and as a result, JaruJaru was selected as the winning duo. JaruJaru, who have won all four previous "CM On Air Battle" competitions, will appear in four TV commercials featuring previously unreleased material, including two "Hotel" commercials, one "Plant Shop" commercial, and one "Western Restaurant" commercial, which will begin airing on March 2nd.
JaruJaru showed overwhelming strength by winning four consecutive championships. Goto Junpei said, "Five seconds isn't my forte at all. It's my forte," and Fukutoku Shusuke analyzed, "Honestly, our skits are actually five seconds long, but we're doing them in a style that forces us to do them for five or ten minutes," and "That's why I think this is a competition that's really suited to comedians like us."
The two are already full of enthusiasm to achieve their fifth consecutive victory. Goto confidently stated, "It all starts when it's over. Bring it on no matter what the situation!", while Fukutoku passionately stated, "I really wish they'd stop trying to get into the Hall of Fame. I want to keep fighting at all times."
