THE GHOST IN THE SHELL new anime title logo revealed, designed by Hajime Sorayama

The title logo design for the new TV anime series "Ghost in the Shell," based on Masamune Shirow's popular manga "Ghost in the Shell," has been released. The design was created by artist Hajime Sorayama. A Teaser trailer and teaser visual featuring the new title logo design have also been released.

Sorayama commented, "This time, we are once again making a Ghost in the Shell animation based on the original work, so I designed it with my own respect and love for Masamune Shirow. While it follows the concept of Ghost in the Shell, it also reflects my own aesthetic sense. I think I have proven that even a familiar logo can be reborn depending on the idea and concept."

The new work will be directed by Moko-chan, who served as assistant director of "Dandadan" and participated in "Scott Pilgrim Takes Off" and "The Heike Story". This will be Moko-chan's first time as a director. Akutagawa Prize-winning author Enjo Toh will be in charge of series composition and scriptwriting, while Handa Shuhei will be in charge of character design and general animation direction. It will be produced by Science SARU and will air in 2026.

"Ghost in the Shell" is a science fiction manga that began serialization in 1989 in the "Young Magazine Pirate Edition," a supplement to the manga magazine "Young Magazine" (Kodansha). It depicts the Ghost in the Shell, led by Motoko Kusanagi, a full-body prosthetic (cyborg) with exceptional abilities in cyber warfare and combat, as they confront increasingly sophisticated and complicated violent crimes.
