Scenes from the fourth episode (broadcast on October 27th) of WOWOW's drama series "Drama W Golden Kamuy - Hokkaido Tattoo Prisoner Battle" (Sunday 10pm), a sequel to the movie "Golden Kamuy" (2024), have been released.
"Golden Kamuy" is based on the manga of the same name by Noda Satoru, which has sold over 29 million copies. The story is set in Hokkaido at the end of the Meiji era, and depicts a survival battle in the wilderness of a group of quirky characters over a huge amount of buried Ainu gold. The movie starring Yamazaki Kento was released in January this year and became a hit, grossing over 3 billion yen. The sequel drama version will continue to feature the main cast, including Yamazaki as Sugimoto and Yamada Anna as Asirpa. This time, new cast members include Takahashi Maryjun, Sakurai Yuki, Kitamura Kazuki, and Hagiwara Masato.
Episode 4, "Everyone Gather Around for the Murder Hotel!", airing on the 27th, will also feature Ienaga Kano, played by Sakurai, Inkarmat, played by Takahashi, and Okuyama Natsutaro, played by Shiono Akihisa. Having received information about the tattooed prisoner, Hijikata Toshizou (Tachi Hiroshi) and Nagakura Shinpachi (Kiba Katsumi) visit Ibarato, where the Hineri family runs a gambling den, and encounter an unexpected character. Meanwhile, Asirpa and her friends decide to meet Nopperabo, who is being held in Abashiri Prison, to find out the truth, and on their way to Abashiri they stop in Sapporo to procure weapons. Sugimoto and her friends stay at the Sapporo World Hotel, run by the popular proprietress Ienaga Kano, but at the same time, Ushiyama (Katsuya), a member of Hijikata's faction, is also visiting the same hotel... This is the story.
