Actress Satomi Ishihara appeared at the "FUJI DRAMA COLORS 2026 AUTUMN" event held in Tokyo on October 3rd, which featured cast members from Fuji TV's October dramas.
Ishihara will star in the Fuji TV drama series "Political Lupin" (Wednesdays at 10 PM), which starts on October 7th, playing the role of Kisaragi Yayoi, the strongest female Lupin ever.
Ishihara confessed her positive feelings about the drama, saying, "The lines written by Akiko Nogi in the script are really funny. The first episode was completed the day before yesterday and I watched it... and it was so funny! Really. I'm so happy." She also showed confidence in her starring role in the drama, saying, "The music is also very dark and bold, and I think a new drama with a new approach has been born. I'm excited to deliver it to everyone as soon as possible."
The producer also revealed that the cast enjoys doing yoga together in their free time on set, to which Ishihara explained, "Yumi (Kawai) suggested we all watch recommended yoga videos together. We do it after lunch and dinner, when we're feeling a little sleepy." Then, footage of Ishihara and the others actually doing yoga on set was shown on the screen, and Ishihara said shyly, "Wait a minute, it's embarrassing, it's not something you should see on such a big screen (laughs)."
"Political Lupin" is an original work in which Ishihara and screenwriter Akiko Nogi team up again for the first time since "Unnatural" (TBS, 2018). Set in the fictional country of Nipponia, the story follows Kisaragi Yayoi, the strongest female Lupin ever, played by Ishihara, as she infiltrates the political world and engages in a battle of wits with elite politicians who are in charge of the ruling party's treasurer, brilliantly stealing all of the dark money of politics.
At the "FUJI DRAMA COLORS 2026 AUTUMN" event, attendees included Yosuke Eguchi and Nanako Matsushima from the Getsuku drama "Emergency Room 24 Hours" (Mondays at 9pm), Mana Ashida and Nanako Matsushima from "Bengoshi Minamida is a Genius" (Mondays at 10pm), Fumiya Takahashi and Lee Joon-gi from "kiDnap GAME" (Tuesdays at 9pm), Satomi Ishihara and Atsuro Watabe Watabe from "Political Pan" (Wednesdays at 10pm), Kyoko Yoshine and Kyoya Honda from " A Calm Sea and Beautiful Days with You " (Thursdays at 10pm), and Ayako Imoto and Jin Shirasu from "Rebirth of Uzume" (Saturdays at 11:40pm).
