Actress Misato Morita attended a press conference on September 14th in Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture, for "Meguru Swan," the NHK Asadora drama series for the first half of 2027 in which she plays the lead role. Filming for the drama began on September 2nd in the Suwa region, where it is set, and Morita, who plays the main character Komatsu Misaki, participated in the filming from the very first day. She spoke about her feelings as filming began and her impressions of the script.
"Meguru Swan" is the 116th installment of the NHK morning drama series. It is set in modern-day Nagano Prefecture. The protagonist, Misaki Komatsu, who aspired to be a detective and became a police officer, is assigned to the "Community Safety Division" and spends her days feeling dissatisfied with her mundane work. She is not someone who has achieved anything remarkable, nor is she relentlessly pursuing her dreams. It is a human comedy about a protagonist who lives an ordinary life and finds a way to "protect an ordinary life where nothing happens." The script is written by comedian Bakarhythm.
Reflecting on filming in Suwa, Morita commented, "I feel very fortunate to be able to act in the same environment as in the drama. The people of Nagano and Shinshu have welcomed me warmly, and I feel like I can naturally stand there as Misaki. Being able to start filming in Suwa makes me feel more at ease about going to the studio from now on."
She added, "Bakarythm's scripts are really easy to say, and they're full of words that we normally speak in everyday conversation, so it feels like the conversation is actually happening right now, which is exciting. I sometimes chuckle, and sometimes I burst out laughing, or laugh so hard that I feel a little embarrassed. Being able to play one role for a long time is something unique to Asadora, and I think it's wonderful that I'll be able to build on this everyday experience from now on," she said, expressing her anticipation.
