The seventh episode of NHK's Drama 10 series "Danchi no Futari" (NHK General, Tuesdays at 10 PM), starring actresses Kyoko Koizumi and Satomi Kobayashi, will air on September 15th. Noe (Koizumi) is taken aback by Natsuko's (Kobayashi) completely independent and self-paced attitude...
Noe and Natsuko decide to go to the solo exhibition of their friend, the popular illustrator Nakazawa (played by Hidekazu Mashima). They try to leave once, but Natsuko oversleeps, causing them to postpone. Finally, they make up for it and enjoy a drive through the city, but Noe is at the mercy of Natsuko's completely self-centered attitude. Although they manage to make it to the exhibition, the two end up having a fight, and for a while after that, they don't see each other.
And then, "that day" arrives...
"Danchi no Futari" is based on the novel of the same name by Chiyo Fujino. It is a heartwarming and humorous story of friendship between two childhood friends in their 50s, single, and living with their parents, who were born in a housing complex. The screenplay was written by Noriko Yoshida, who also wrote the "Dr. Koto Clinic" series (Fuji TV) and the April 2024 drama "Destiny" (TV Asahi).
When it was broadcast as an NHK premium drama in 2024, it received a great response for being a drama that made viewers cherish the small things in everyday life. This time, it will be broadcast on terrestrial television in the same network's "Drama 10" slot.
