The eighth episode of the TV Asahi drama series "GATE24," starring actress Shuri, aired on September 10th (Thursdays at 9 PM). Towards the end of the episode, the "other side" of Dr. Kazuo Shirosaki (Masahiko Katsumura), a doctor from the NPO "Saving Life" who appeared at GATE24 as a passenger, was revealed, becoming a hot topic on social media.

In episode 8, immigration officer Hayami (Gordon Maeda) hears from his former superior at the Ministry of Justice, Arima (Seigo Nishihara), that there may be a spy at GATE24 and is asked to investigate. Customs officer Machi (Shuri), who happens to overhear this conversation, joins Hayami in investigating the members' movements.
At GATE24, immigration checks for a flight from Astoria begin. Suddenly, a passenger complains of stomach pain, and Dr. Shirosaki, who was on the flight, is called in to treat the patient. Machi, who knows Dr. Shirosaki's name, is surprised and explains to her colleague Nozomi (Kyoko Saito) that Dr. Shirosaki is a man who has continuously given hope to people wounded by disasters and conflicts. It is then discovered that there is an unexplained food poisoning incident at Astoria Airport. There is a possibility that it is a terrorist incident in which poison has been intentionally mixed in, so Machi and the others are busy checking the health of all the passengers. Afterwards, with Dr. Shirosaki's support, the stomach ache incident is resolved without incident. Machi and Hayami see Dr. Shirosaki off the airport, but immediately afterwards, Detective Inouchi (Mitsuru Fukikoshi) and others from the Metropolitan Police Department's International Crime Countermeasures Division rush into GATE24. According to Inouchi and his team, a member of an anti-government organization believed to be involved in the bombing of a government facility was on the flight from Astoria, and the person in the photograph that Inouchi and his team had was Dr. Shirosaki, whom they had just seen off.
Machi and the others quickly found Shirosaki. When Machi called out Shirosaki's name, Shirosaki raised both hands and said, "There's nothing... I can say. I'm sorry," then swallowed something that looked like poison and collapsed. In front of Machi, he said, "I've been... saving lives all this time. I'm glad... I could save you in the end too..." before losing consciousness.
Later, it was revealed that Shirosaki had lost his family in a bombing incident that occurred a year earlier. Furthermore, a business card belonging to Councillor Mitsuri (played by Yasuko Matsuyuki) was found among Shirosaki's belongings, leading to suspicions that Mitsuri had ties to an anti-government organization...and that's how the story unfolded.
Viewers were shocked by the "other side" of Shirosaki that was revealed towards the end. Comments on social media included: "I'm surprised by the shocking ending," "This is shocking...", "Of course, if Katsumura is in charge, something is bound to happen," "Too scary," and "I'm shocked...!"
