Following the end of the exhibition period for the life-sized Unicorn Gundam statue, which has been on display in Odaiba, Tokyo since September 2017, it has been announced that a finale event will be held. For 10 days only, from August 22nd until the end of the exhibition, a special video titled "UNICORN GUNDAM Statue -BEYOND POSSIBILITY-" will be screened, which will be linked to the life-sized Unicorn Gundam statue and the "WALL-G" video projection system on the wall of DiverCity Tokyo Plaza.
At Gundam Base Tokyo Annex, panels reviewing the history of the life-sized Unicorn Gundam statue and a diorama of the statue are on display. Message boards are set up at the GUNDAM Cafe food truck and Gundam Base Tokyo.
The life-size statue of the Unicorn Gundam from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam UC (Unicorn)" stood approximately 19.7 meters tall and weighed about 49 tons. Its ability to switch between Unicorn Mode and Destroy Mode also garnered attention. The statue will close its doors at the end of August, after approximately nine years of history. The same location had previously displayed a life-size Gundam, the "RG 1/1 RX78-2 Gundam Ver.GFT," from 2012, which attracted many visitors, but its exhibition ended in March 2017.
