On August 10th, still images were released from the theatrical version of "TUBE 40th Anniversary Live & Documentary ~A Voyage of 40 Years~," a special WOWOW program commemorating the 40th anniversary of the rock band "TUBE" (to be released on August 28th).
The newly released stills include four images: bassist Hideyuki Kadono, who turned 60 in Atsugi where the 40th anniversary tour kicked off, wearing red during rehearsals and before the show; the four members taking photos with fans in Okinawa, the tour finale; and an interview scene from the day after the Hawaii performance. All of them are impressive shots that convey the close bond between the members of 4, even after 40 years.
In addition, it was announced that, in keeping with the title "A Voyage to the 40th Anniversary," original boarding pass-style stickers will be distributed as a gift to attendees.
TUBE debuted on June 1, 1985, with "Bestseller Summer." They have continued to color Japanese summers with numerous songs such as "Season in the Sun," "Ah, Summer Vacation," "Glass Memories," and "Embrace Summer," and celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2025.
This film, TUBE's first theatrical release, is a complete version of the special program that aired and streamed on WOWOW on June 28, with previously unreleased scenes added. It closely follows their 40th anniversary year, which began with their first performance in 20 years in Waikiki, Hawaii, on their debut anniversary on June 1, 2025. The film captures numerous special live performances made possible only because of their 40th anniversary, including their 36th "Hamasta Summer Festival Live" held at their "sacred ground," Yokohama Stadium (Naka Ward, Yokohama City), with many guests, a surprise session with Tetsuro Oda, the final show of their 40-show national tour, and their performance in Okinawa in May. The film weaves together live footage, behind-the-scenes stories, and the thoughts of the four members behind the scenes.
