The results of the "Favorite Psi Episode" fan poll, held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the anime "The Disastrous Life of Saiki K." (Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan), based on the gag manga by Shuichi Aso, have been announced. In the fan poll, where fans chose their "favorite Psi episode" from the first season to the "Psi-Reawakening Arc," episode 5 of the first part of the "Final Arc," "The Battle After Psi," came in first place. Second place went to episode 3 of season 2, episode 2χ, "Experience Psi-Fiction 3," and third place went to episode 1 of season 2, episode 24χ, "See Through the Psi! The Trial of the Perfect Beautiful Girl."
To commemorate the fact that episodes related to Saiki Kusuo's older brother, Saiki Kūsuke, ranked 1st and 2nd, a new illustration has been released. The illustration conveys the regal presence of Saiki Kūsuke, the genius inventor with an IQ of 218.
The top three episodes are being streamed on the Jump YouTube channel as "Emergency Free Streaming! Part 9." This is a limited-time offer until 8 PM on August 20th. Cartoon Network will be airing 10 episodes, including the "Ψ Favorite Episode," starting at 6 PM on August 6th.
On August 16th, Saiki Kusuo's birthday, the top 3 stories in each of the "Ψ-Oshi Episodes" categories—"Oh Dear Stories," "Melodramatic Stories," and "Ooh-tastic Stories"—will be announced as a special bonus episode. The number one story in each category will be streamed for free on the Jump Channel on YouTube.
The jacket illustrations for the Blu-ray discs of "The Final Chapter" and "Ψ Reawakened" have also been revealed. The illustrations depict Saiki Kusuo and Saiki Kusuke forming the letter "Ψ".
To commemorate Teruhashi Kokomi's birthday on August 6th, birthday videos were released on the ShoPro Anime YouTube channel and the anime's official X account. A quiz project also started on the anime's official X account.
"The Disastrous Life of Saiki K." was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 2012 to 2018. It depicts the life of Saiki Kusuo, a psychic who tries to live an inconspicuous life, but gets involved in various troubles because of his eccentric friends.
The first season of the TV anime aired from July to December 2016, the second season from January to June 2018, and the "Final Arc" aired in December 2018. "Ψ Reawakened" began streaming on Netflix in December 2019. A live-action film adaptation directed by Yuichi Fukuda and starring Kento Yamazaki was released in 2017, which also garnered attention.
