The two-member rock band Kuroyume will hold their "THE PERFECT DAYS TO DIE" concert at TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO (Koto Ward, Tokyo) for three days starting July 17th. It has been announced that footage from the second day's performance will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW in September. In addition, six related programs will be broadcast and streamed all at once in September as an encore special.
Formed in 1991 and making their major debut in 1994, Kuroyume released numerous hit songs such as "Like@Angel," "Shonen," and "MARIA," and had a tremendous influence on the next generation of artists. However, in 1999, they announced an indefinite hiatus. After a period of reactivation from 2010 to 2015, they reunited in February 2025 as part of the 30th anniversary celebration of vocalist Kiyoharu's debut, marking their first reunion in about 10 years.
On July 15th of this year, they released their first self-cover album, featuring complete re-recordings of their classic albums "Drug TReatment" (1997) and "CORKSCREW" (1998). This album reconstructs Kuroyume as they are "now," with changes in skills, expressiveness, and the relationship between the two members since the 1990s.
Immediately following that, "THE PERFECT DAYS TO DIE," a three-day event, has the word "death" in its title, which paradoxically suggests that it will be a live performance that embodies the "way of life" of a rock musician.
WOWOW will broadcast and stream footage of the second day's performance in September, under the title "Kuroyume 'THE PERFECT DAYS TO DIE'".
The lineup of the six related programs that will be broadcast or streamed in September is as follows:
"Kuroyume 2025.02.09 CORKSCREW A GO GO! SAINT MY FAKE STAR": Broadcast and streaming of the performance held at Tokyo Garden Theater (Koto-ku, Tokyo) on February Getsuku, 2025, marking Kuroyume's first comeback in 10 years. "Kuroyume Music Video Collection": Broadcast and streaming of a collection of music videos tracing Kuroyume's career to commemorate their 30th anniversary, along with newly filmed interviews with Kiyoharu and Hitoki. "Kiyoharu debut 30th anniversary year TOUR Tenshi no Uta 'NEVER END EXTRA' The Birthday": Broadcast and streaming of Kiyoharu's birthday performance held at Ebisu Garden Place The Garden Hall (Meguro-ku, Tokyo) on October 27, 2024.
"Kiyoharu Music Video Collection": A collection of music videos commemorating the double anniversary of his major debut with Kuroyume (30th anniversary) and his solo debut (20th anniversary), selected by Kiyoharu himself and broadcast/streamed along with an interview with him. "SADS 1999-2003 'SAD ASIAN DEAD STAR'": The rock band "SADS," led by Kiyoharu, reunited with its original members for the first time in about 20 years, and the performance held at Zepp Haneda (Ota Ward, Tokyo) on June 29th and 30th, 2024 will be broadcast/streamed. "SADS Music Video Collection": A collection of music videos selected by Kiyoharu himself will be broadcast/streamed along with an interview with him.
