Former speed skaters Nana Takagi and Miho Takagi will appear on the talk variety show "Sanma no Manma Midsummer Chat Festival" (Kansai TV/Fuji TV network), which will air on July 17th at 9 PM. This will be the Takagi sisters' first appearance on "Sanma no Manma".
Miho, the younger sister who announced her retirement from competitive skating in March of this year, met MC Akashiya Sanma for the first time. Seeing the many medals hanging around her neck, Sanma expressed his hope that she "could still compete!", but the two replied, "We can't imagine it." They honestly reflected on their competitive careers, with Miho saying that "winning this many medals doesn't make me feel satisfied," and Nana admitting that "at first, I felt a lot of regret" regarding her sister's achievements.
Furthermore, Sanma, who gets to experience the training that the two did during their active careers, is nervous about the first-time challenge, saying, "This is scary." The unfamiliar movements also play a role, leading to an unexpected turn of events.
Furthermore, when Nana confided in Sanma, saying, "There's something I'd like you to teach me," Sanma was astonished by the unexpected content, asking, "What are you trying to become?" and, impressed by her naivety, he quipped, "Your sister is much more responsible." However, Nana showed no sign of being intimidated, proudly declaring, "This is what the Takagi sisters are all about!" which drew laughter from Sanma.
In an interview after the recording, Nana confidently stated about the highlights of the show, "Recently, it's starting to be revealed little by little, but I was happy to be 'certified as an airhead' by Sanma-san (laughs)! Sanma-san brought out the differences in the personalities of the Takagi sisters, so I think it's going to be interesting!" Miho added, "I want you to see the slide board (training) which I did for the first time since retiring from my active career. I'm not confident in my talking skills, but I think my movements are good (laughs)!"
The cast for this day will include actor Takashi Sorimachi, model and actress Meru Nukumi(aka "Meruru"), Naoki Prize-winning authors Ryo Asai and Kanako Nishi, actress Riisa Naka, comedy duo "Mitorizu", and comedian Raipachi Imai.
