Comedian Hidetaka Kano will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), airing on July 10th at 1 PM.
He ranked first in a "Favorite Comedian Ranking" conducted among junior and senior high school students. He gave his all to deliver a one-liner gag in response to Kuroyanagi's outrageous request. The program also features his encounter with his hometown seniors, the comedy duo "Sandwichman," and heartwarming messages from his seniors.
He is the eldest son of a family that has run a shrine in Miyagi Prefecture for over 1500 years. He rebelled against inheriting the family business and moved to Tokyo at the age of 18, dreaming of becoming a television star. After that, he faced the family business and now wears "two hats" as a comedian and a Shinto priest. He will share a behind-the-scenes story about a mistake he made when he first started out as a Shinto priest.
