It has been announced that Jun Wakatsuki's manga "Watashi o Center to To wai Masu Masu? (Watashi Sen)," which is serialized on the website "Magazine Pocket," will be adapted into a TV anime. A teaser visual featuring the main character, idol Mizuki Natsuno, and her enthusiastic fan, Koichi Okuda, has been released.
The original work is a manga that garnered a huge response when its first chapter, released on X in 2023, recorded approximately 40,000 reposts and 200,000 likes. Natsuno Mizuki, a member of the nationally popular idol group "Melty Strawberry," is the least popular member and on the verge of graduating. She ends up living under the same roof as Okuda Kouichi, the only fan in the world who purely and wholeheartedly supports her. The idol and her fan form a secret alliance as they aim to rise from last place to center. The comic has sold over 200,000 copies in total. The latest volume, volume 6, will be released on Getsuku.
Original author Wakatsuki commented, "I can't believe it! 'Watashi Sen' is going to be made into an anime! I'm so surprised! It really feels like a dream! It was my first serialized work, and I was fumbling around, not knowing what to do, so when my editor told me that it might be made into an anime, I was happy, but honestly, I was more anxious. But the reliable anime production staff blew away all those anxieties. They really thought about what kind of characters Koichi and Zukki are, and they did a wonderful job with the script and character designs. Thank you!!
