TBS Sunday drama "VIVANT," starring actor Masato Sakai (Sundays at 9 PM). Producer Kazutaka Iida spoke about the highlights of episode 19, which will air on October 4th.
Producer Iida commented, "The main point of interest in the second half of the season is whether or not they will be able to rescue the other team members. Tomorrow's episode 19 is the start of that, and the Avengers' activities, centered around Nogi, will finally begin from here."
"Personally, the key characters are Nokoru (Kazunari Ninomiya) and Kurosu (Tori Matsuzaka). Nokoru, who appears in a suit in the trailer, first uses his intellect rather than brute force to get ahead. The filming involved three languages, but it was Nokoru, and Ninomiya who played him, who overwhelmingly dominated the scene. I was amazed by how he sensed the expressions of the other actors, the slightest muscle movements, and their breathing, and how he received their input even when they were speaking a different language. There's nothing more to say than 'as expected'," he revealed.
He continued, "I'd also like you to pay attention to Kurosu's performance, which evokes the counterattack that begins from here. I still remember the time of filming, and I vividly remember feeling a certain kind of fear when I watched the monitor. His performance, which quietly expresses an inner fire that never breaks, is a must-see."
"Furthermore, the filming in Azerbaijan, where our VIVANT team spent two and a half months, is just beginning. We believe that you will enjoy the filming, including shots at beautiful World Heritage sites, as well as the story itself, so please pay attention to that aspect as well."
"Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has watched the broadcasts up to this point. For the remaining six episodes, the entire staff and cast will put their hearts into delivering the show, so we hope that viewers, who are also part of Team VIVANT, will engrave it firmly in their eyes, ears, and hearts! Thank you very much!" he appealed.
In episode 19, Nogi (played by Sakai) and his team begin their full-scale operation to recapture Shaki Castle, an impregnable fortress and one of Shinshi's strongholds.
