LINE Manga, an electronic comic service, has teamed up with ASOBISYSTEM to hold a creator discovery contest called "ASOBI STORY AUDITION 2026 powered by LINE Manga." The contest is seeking webtoons with the theme of "stories of protagonists who move into a new world, driven by their passions," and has begun accepting submissions in two categories: the "Original Story Category," which is looking for original stories intended to be one-shots, and the "Drawing Category," which is looking for works drawn based on a given storyboard.
Pomu, the creator of the webtoon "Senpai Is an Otokonoko," will be participating in the judging. Yutaro, an actor and model belonging to ASOBISYSTEM, creator Ko-kun, Yuna Takanashi, a member of the idol group "MORE STAR," and illustrator Natsumi Yoshida will serve as guest judges.
In addition to receiving a cash prize, winners will be assigned a dedicated representative from companies such as "LINE Manga" and ASOBISYSTEM to support their future creative activities.
Applications will be accepted until September 30th on the special webpage. The results will be announced in late October.
◇Yutaro's comment
I'm Yutaro, and I'll be participating as a guest judge. I believe that the power of "liking" something is an incredible energy that can't be replaced by anything else. I myself learned to like myself after discovering clothes and makeup. This time, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's "liking" something in the form of manga. We look forward to receiving many entries!
◇ Ko-kun's comment
I believe manga has the power to change people's lives. Truly memorable works make you want to recommend them to someone or read them again after you've finished reading them. Please pour all your energy and passion into your work—passion that can't be created by technique alone, and the author's own desire to draw this! I look forward to encountering works that will make you unable to stop reading!
◇Comment from Yuna Takanashi
I am deeply honored to be involved in judging such a wonderful contest. I myself have been encouraged and supported by manga many times throughout my life. That is why I have the utmost respect for the thoughts put into each work and the effort put into bringing each one to life. I will carefully read each and every work that you have poured your heart into. I am sincerely looking forward to encountering wonderful works.
◇Comment from Natsumi Yoshida
I believe stories are conveyed not only through words and pictures, but also through color, atmosphere, and negative space. I'm drawn to works that retain the artist's feelings rather than those that are perfectly neat and tidy. Please share the scenery you see, in your own colors.
◇ Comment from Pomu
Ah, so this is what this person "likes"! I think works that convey what they really wanted to depict are truly moving. Show us your wholehearted "likes"! Storyboard revisions are very welcome!
