The NHK morning drama series "Omusubi" starring Kanna Hashimoto will air its fifth week, "About that day." In the 22nd episode on October 29th...
On January 17th, 1995, 6-year-old Yui (Ameri Isomura) was in a school evacuation shelter after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. While Masato (Yukiya Kitamura) and Aiko (Kumiko Aso) were outside looking at the damage, she went to see her house with her older sister Ayumu (Saki Takamatsu).
When they arrived, Yui found her parents standing there in shock, and saw the house collapse, which seemed unreal.
"Omusubi" is a "Heisei youth graffiti" about a heroine born in 1989 who, with her "gal spirit" of always valuing her individuality, connects people's hearts and futures as a nutritionist. It is an original work by screenwriter Nemoto Nonji, who is known for his work on the NHK drama "Honest Real Estate."
