It has been announced that "Champignon no Majo", the latest work by manga artist Higuchi Tachibana, known for the popular manga "Gakuen Alice", will be made into a TV anime. Details of the anime will be announced in the future.
The work is a manga currently being serialized in "Hana to Yume" (Hakusensha). Luna, who is feared by people as a black witch because poisonous mushrooms grow wherever she speaks, touches, or walks, falls in love for the first time... It is a magical fantasy of love, adventure, and emotion. The latest 6th volume of the comic will be released on December 20th.
To commemorate the anime adaptation, an illustration by the author, Higuchi, was released. Higuchi commented, "Thanks to everyone, 'The Champignon Witch' has been made into an anime. I have had many hardships in continuing to draw this work to this point, but I have received support and encouragement from many people, and it is a work that I am very attached to in many ways. I wonder if by having it made into an anime I have been able to repay, even a little, the feelings of everyone who has supported me up until now? I would like to continue to work hard and enjoy drawing this work in the future."
"I am currently supervising as the author of an acclaimed anime, but sometimes the feelings I described above get too intense and I feel like I'm not being careful enough with my input...so I am in deep prostration every day to the editors and everyone involved in the anime. I hope that we can create an anime that brings happiness to everyone who has been involved and watched, and I hope that Luna and all the other wizards will cast powerful happiness and charm spells on "The Champignon Witch" anime."
